Survey work, Cuba
Cuba has weak democratic institutions, much like those of former Soviet client states in Central and Eastern Europe immediately after the Berlin Wall came down. Our client had a strong need to understand the expectations of the Cuban public in the post-Fidel environment in 2008 - 2012. Using low-profile surveys in a closed society, we were able to provide ongoing coverage of social and political sentiments for our client. This resulted in revealing previously unknown expectations of the Cuban public relating to democratic institutions and governance
Results: The creation of a hybrid data collection methodology (Stratified-Intercept) where researchers from other Latin American countries engaged respondents in a “conversational interviewing” method. With no obvious survey instruments we were able to conduct the research without government interference.
Market research and operations, mexico
Since 2013, RTV has been working with a family foundation guiding a leadership transition in all aspects of strategy and operations. Supporting economic development projects in southern Mexico for decades, the foundation welcomed fresh ideas, guidance and information from which to base future direction.
We worked with foundation staff to complete security assessments, program review and design, partnership landscaping, development of M & E program and market research for locally-sourced and produced products.
Results: Our research and outreach established local and national partnership, increased staff resources and program efficiencies, bolstered security measures, and identified metrics for long-term measurement.
Polling, Democratic republic of Congo
International policy towards DRC in 2011-2012 suffered from lack of information and lack of interest. The fractured past of the country, coupled with a massive regional lack of concrete data, added to the apathy of
focused public policy and interest in the region. In partnership with Eastern Congo Initiative, we were engaged in an ongoing series of national-level polls to bring the voice of the Congolese to the forefront of US and international political dialogue on DRC policy.
Results: Targeted national poll, new data on social trends, communications, multimedia presentation, integrated advocacy campaign.
